Saltley Academy’s PE Department forges links with Ghanaian schools

Saltley Academy’s RRSA team were very proud to meet Pastor Jeff Nicholson, from the Windsor Street Adventist Church in Nechells, this week to donate a fantastic range of PE clothing and equipment to two schools in Ghana which are linked to the Windsor Street Adventist Church. Mr Wright from Saltley’s PE team organised this kind donation along with Mrs White who works at Saltley and is also a part of the congregation at Windsor Street Adventist Church.

The PE department were very generous and donated a large range of PE equipment and clothing which will be sent to two schools in Ghana. School children studying at the Abena Kwabena Academy and the Andrews Adventist Prepartory School in Kumasi will be receiving our gifts very soon, which will enrich their PE lessons. Kumasi is a large city in the Ashanti Region of Ghana and is situated near to Lake Bosomtwe.

The RRSA team were very proud that they were involved in this donation. Thanks to the PE department Ghanaian children, from reception age upwards, in these two schools will be able to enjoy Article 31 – the right to leisure, play and culture. Pastor Nicholson was very grateful for our gifts and thanked Mr Wright and Mrs McCartney Farmer and her PE colleagues for their generosity. The RRSA ambassadors will keep in contact with the schools in Ghana and we hope to hear from our Ghanian friends soon.
